Avni Bansal (b. 1992) is a visual artist and printmaker based in Chandigarh/Delhi. Working across printmaking, textiles, zine-making, symbols and motifs, her practice is rooted in memory, rituals and the vernacular arts present in India. Her works challenge the binaries between high and low art, structure and decoration, design and narrative, often blurring the lines between contemporary art and craft.

Her recent exhibitions include The London Original Print Fair 2025 at Somerset House with India Printmaker House,Isotropical Futures at Tao Art Gallery, Mumbai (curated by Yash Vikram), Imprint at The Art Route, Delhi, Paper and Play and 5 Years of Pulp Society at Pulp Society, Delhi, 

In 2024, she showed work in Cogito, Ergo Sum at Apre Art House X The Quorum, Mumbai, and conducted workshops such as Fractions Redefined at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Delhi and a printmaking workshop at Arthshila, Ahmedabad.

In 2023, she participated in Encrypted at Apre Art House, Mumbai (curated by Lina Vincent), Collective Impact: Diverse Perspectives at Exhibit 320, Delhi (curated by Prayag Chakradhar), and several exhibitions and projects with Terrain.art, including Only Drawing Will Remain and Slivers of My Existence

In previous years, her work has featured in Give Me Space at IPCNY, New York (2020), 8th Sofia Print Triennale, Stree Vision (Poland & Mexico), and the International Biennale of Small Graphics in Romania (2016). She has participated in residencies at Space Studios, Pulp Society, Uttarayan Art Foundation, and others.

She received the 56th National Award from Lalit Kala Akademi in 2015 and the Ministry of Culture’s Young Artist Scholarship in 2016. Her work has been featured in Platform Magazine, India Art Review, The Times London, and Euronews and many more. 

Currently, Avni is a part of the Quiet Art Movement.
