The Shifting Traditions

Beginning with spontaneous, freeform scribbles, raw and unfiltered expressions of thought, the process gradually moves toward the creation of bold, minimal motifs.  It reflects a movement from chaos to clarity, from clutter to structure, and from intricate details to minimal, essential forms. The motifs invite the viewer to recognize traces of what is known while grappling with an abstraction that dances just beyond reach.

These motifs emerge as metaphors for how societies and cultures evolve: starting with undefined, complex origins, gaining definition and intricacy, and eventually distilling into minimal, universal forms.Rooted in elements of both rural and contemporary India, the visual language explores the layered transformation of culture, where peculiarities and details are shed in favor of simplicity and uniformity. As the scribbles transform into deliberate shapes, they echo the present-day fixation on removing clutter and reducing the elaborate to the essential. This shift is both a celebration and a critique—offering a poignant reflection on the homogenization of cultural aesthetics and values.
